CICAME ÉNERGIE's starpole anchoring system in the spotlight in Quebec

La Romaine and Unamen Shipu are the last villages in Quebec's Lower North Shore that are not yet powered by renewable energy. However, they will soon be connected thanks to a 35 kV overhead line built by HYDRO-QUEBEC, in the final stages of completion.

For this 90 km connection project in late-2019, CICAME ENERGIE supplied HYDRO-QUEBEC with approximately 1500 units of the new STARPOLE anchoring system for wooden poles, representing a budget of CAD$1m.

STARPOLE is a new range of anchoring systems designed to install and secure posts (wood, composite, etc.) in place on rock, concrete or any hard surface. Compliant with the CSA 015- 05 standard, STARPOLE resists most loads and is easy to install. To date, more than 30,000 units of STARPOLE systems have been installed on utility lines in North America.
